Les chercheurs, scientifiques et ing?ieurs praticiens de tous les pays sont invit? ?y partager leurs connaissances et leur exp?ience dans le domaine de la g?technique ferroviaire.
Les dates de ce symposium ont ??choisies pour permettre aux participants d뭓ssister aussi au congr? mondial de la recherche ferroviaire de Lille.

This first international symposium dedicated to the geotechnical problems of the railway community aims at offering a place for exchanges and discussions to all engineers and researchers who contribute to controlling the behaviour of soils and railway structures, both traditional and innovative, and to managing natural hazards and environmental impacts linked to railway activities.
Researchers, scientists and engineers from all countries are invited to this symposium, to share their knowledge and experience in the field of railway geotechnical engineering.
The dates of this symposium were chosen to enable the participants to attend the world conference in Lille.

Th?es du symposium / Topics of the symposium

Les th?es du symposium concernent de fa?n g??ale les aspects g?techniques de la construction, de l뭙ntretien et de la gestion des voies ferr?s et autres infrastructures de transport guid?
Le symposium traitera pr??entiellement des questions suivantes :
- conception de lignes nouvelles et remise ?niveau des lignes existantes,
- maintenance, entretien, r?abilitation et s?urit?
- insertion dans les paysages et les villes (pollution, hydraulique, vibrations, paysage),
- choix des structures de voies ferr?s et r??entiels ferroviaires,
- voies ferr?s en tunnel,
en termes d믧tudes, de recherches et d뭙xemples de chantiers ou de projets. Il est admis que les ?udes g?techniques s뭓rr?ent sauf exception ?la base des rails.

The topics of the symposium all relate to the geotechnical aspects of the construction, maintenance and management of railways and other guided transport infrastructures.
The symposium will preferentially cover the following subjects:
- design of new railway lines and restoration of existing lines,
- maintenance, rehabilitation and safety,
- insertion in landscape and cities (pollution, water, vibrations, landscape),
- choice of the railway structures and railway standards and codes of practice,
- railways in tunnels,
in terms of studies, research and examples of projects and works. It is assumed that geotechnical studies normally do not deal with rail behaviour.

Les propositions seront s?ectionn?s par le comit?scientifique sur la base de r?um? de 500 mots. Les r?um? doivent ?re charg? sur le site avant le 30 septembre 2010.

The proposals will be selected by the scientific committee on the basis of 500 words abstracts. The abstracts must be uploaded on the website before September 30th, 2010.

Les langues officielles du Symposium sont l뭓nglais et le fran?is. La traduction simultan? fran?is/anglais est pr?ue.
The official languages of the Symposium are French and English. Simultaneous translation French/English will be provided.
