Dear President or Secretary for your national geotechnical society,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the 5th International Symposium on Deformation Characteristics of Geomaterials (IS-Seoul 2011), we would like to request the submission of abstract. The Symposium is organized by International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (TC29) and Korean Geotechnical Society, and scheduled to be held in Seoul, Korea, on August 31 to September 3, 2011.

The major themes of this symposium are as follows:
I.Experimental Investigations from very small strains to beyond failure
II.Behaviour, characterization and modeling of various geomaterials
III. Practical prediction and interpretation of ground response: field observation and case histories

Prospective authors are gladly invited to submit a 300-500 word abstract on these themes through the IS-Seoul 2011 website (http://www.isseoul2011.org) not later than January 15, 2010. Some of submitted papers, after a peer-review, will be published in a special issue of “Soils and Foundations”. - Acceptance of Abstract: March 15, 2010

- Full Paper Due (Soils and Foundations): June 15, 2010
